Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar, one of the American and British sitar artist. She won the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and first female recipient. Alongside the nine Grammy awards and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the first Indian-born musician to present at and perform at the award ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is the hottest star on the Indian sitar. She is the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. Her childhood years were spent between London as well as New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years of age. Later, in Encinitas CA she attended high school. She graduated with distinction in 1999. Anouskha even though she is just a teenager, has had an extremely successful recording and performing career. She often joins her father in performances this she has been doing for a number of years. She released her debut album in 1998. debuted Anourag as her debut album as a solo artist. The Grammy Award-winning Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. The stage is a very large part of her career. She's played in many important venues across the world. Anoushka Shakar's work is not only limited to music. She also published Bapi The love of my life in 2002. It is a biography which pays tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. She has also acted in films in 2003 she acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays an aspiring Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka is still progressing on her path and will surely be other things to be expected from this talented lady. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent the majority of her childhood in London and Delhi after which she moved to California where she attended the high school. She began learning music when she was nine years old and performed on the sitar to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the birth of her father in Delhi the following year. Anoushka's father toured around the globe with her, and she also gained a variety of opportunities. While still teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. Her artistry and musicianship have been acknowledged by the British parliament as the best in Asian Arts.
